SVESHTARI.- NEAR ZAVET 25 KM UNIQUUE MONUMENT OF THRACIAN AND HELLENISTIC ART OF 3RD CENTURY B.C. became a unesco monument in 1986, an amazing site of a royal tomb well worth the visit,translators and guided tours in all languages. google-earth
SREBURNA NATURE RESERVE.-70 KM a national site for wetlands spanning 600 hectares , became a unesco site in 1983, many rare breeds of animals and bird life here, has a museum displaying all animals and birds seen here, truely a great day out google-earth
SILISTRA.- 75 KM just a short drive from sreburna reserve, an interesting modern town, good shops bars/ resturants,coffee bars.situated on danube with good views of romania.
TUTRUKAN.-33KM Nice old fishing town ,roman castle,museums.all listed on google-earth .very nice restored park on front facing danube ,views and boats to romania.very interesting old houses.old town on lower level, new town with shops etc,resturants, coffee bars etc higher level.Fresh fish always available here.
